There is a difference between a team and an effective team. An effective team is not only group of individuals who work together, but an effective team is the group of individuals who work together for a common goal. An effective team knows their team goals very well and they put forward their team goals before their individual goals. If you want that your team should work together effectively, then you have to build an effective team.
To work effectively in a team you have to give utmost importance to team work rather than individual achievements because many times a team
of great individuals lose because of not working like an effective team. Many tiems teams lose because lacking teamwork despite having great individuals in your team. And many times an effective team wins because of teamwork despite having common and average individuals. If you want an effective team, then you should lead by example and work in a team. Provide your team some team goals and motivate them to achieve these goals. Never give them ambiguous goals.
Communication is the key of an effective team; hence try to improve communication within your team. For example, give some special emphasis on face-to-face communication.
Define clear roles for each individual of your team because ambiguous roles create frustration in the team. Do not forget to give recognition and appreciation for small achievements of your teams because it will build an effective and loyal team.
