As you are aware with 80-20 formula and why 20% of your employees are more important than other 80%. The biggest challenge for every organization is retaining these 20% employees and there are many reasons why these key employees leave your organization. The main reasons are bureaucracy, poor leadership and lack of professional environment etc. etc.


But the main problem is why do key employee leave your organization and what is the main factor? It can be any reason but

in all conditions they leave when they get demotivated whether by financial issues or by non financial reasons. De-motivation is the main factor why your people leave your organization and any reason can be behind this demotivating factor.Sometimes it is bureaucracy and sometimes it is lack of professional environment.

I have done a good research on the all important reasons why your key employees leave your organization? There is an important and overlooked reason. Many good employees leave your organization because of “micro management”.

Micro management is a style of management that is loved by mediocre managers or leaders. Although sometimes in training on complicated issues

micro management can be used but overall this is a timid kind of management style. All great employees hate micro management whether it is done directly or indirectly. Micro management creates highly demotivated environment because every small activity is watched and controlled directly or indirectly. Every key employee wants to leave environment of micro management. Here are the main disadvantage of micro management –

1. Micro management drains creativity.
2. It makes your employees dumb.
3. It is a time consuming activity.
4. Highly ineffective leadership style.
5. It gives unnecessary burdens on your managers.
6. Sometimes it can cause stress in your employees.

Micro management is characteristic of poor management and it create discouraging environment that drains the great creativity.

Here are some solution for you to avoid micro management – 

1. Set and specify your goals clearly.
2. Don`t create ambiguity.
3. Set vision because top talent is not driven by money and power it is driven by vision.
4. Set clear direction.
